On every 30th of each month, we present living examples of CJ and ibvm being one. Today, read this report from the Philippines:
Sr. Mina and I, Sr. Sumin Catherine Yim, are missioning in Julian Felipe Mission Station which is under the Diocese of Caloocan, the Philippines. The Bishop Ambo in Caloocan has thought Catholic Church does not close to the poor but the rich.
For this reason, in 2018, he started the Mission Station system which is to reach out and care for the poor living together in their area, and it continues upto now. There are 20 Mission Stations and in each Mission Station, there are one or two chaplains. CJ was invited to one of 20 mission stations in 2020 and Sr. Honorina Lee and Sr. Hyacintha Kim missioned for 2 years. After that, I have been sent here since 2022 and Sr. Mina has been sent in 2023. We form a community centered a small chapel and serve together in cooperation with lay volunteers and youth volunteers.
We have a Feeding Program twice a week supporting by Diocesan fundraising and our lay volunteers cook nutritious food for the children. We have Sunday Mass in our small chapel and following the Mass, there is a catechism for the children taught by our youth volunteers, and Sr. Mina visits the sick to give them Holy Communion. CJ and IBVM support Mary Ward Scholarship for the college students who are serving in our chapel.
We have prepared Youth Center run by CJ. It is just a small room but our youth can study here using a laptop and the internet line, prepare the catechism, have a meeting, their gathering and so on. It is the only space for the youth. There are many children here with wounds, so we always carry ointment and bandages to treat them. Besides this, we are missioning living with the poor here and finding various ways to be everything to everyone.
