Celebrating the Sacredness of our Diversity

Rome

The International Union of Superiors General (UISG) invited members from different congregations to a "culture day", celebrating the diversity of consecrated life. The CJ students participated in this enriching experience.

If God could sing for us today, in how many languages will he make us all hear and enjoy. How amazing is our God. Bringing us all from afar to form us in one family honouring together the sacredness of our diversity as different Religious congregations at International Union of Superiors General (UISG) on the 30th April 2026.

We had an opportunity as students to praise God for this special gift of our different cultures.

The day was marked by the Eucharistic celebrations led by Fr. Aristide (African) from the Rosemin Fathers with the procession steered by the African Sisters in their jubilant dance and music. Indeed, it was beautiful. The liturgy was melodiously conducted in many languages. Truly, it was beautiful. The participants displayed their different   cultural dances in turns according to how they do it in their Continence. After the cultural presentations the guests together with the students were led to the dining room where they experienced varieties of food which were prepared by the participants. We all enjoyed the delicious food.

We thank the General and her team for this opportunity for allowing us to explore our diversity in the UISG Community. We also acknowledge the presence of Sr. Agneska who represented the Generalate community in celebrating our cultural day.

We all experienced the beauty of this special gift inter-culturality, we actually felt called to deepen our understanding and knowledge of God himself who created these different cultures in his own image with his genuine love for service.

As different cultures we are called to relate well despite our differences, we were created for a purpose, especially that we glorify him. We are one family, therefore we must all work well in promoting peace in all our special s areas especially in our own communities. Accepting one another is accepting Christ himself (St. Teresa of Kolkata).
