Mary Ward Women of the Dawn on the Way
The newsletter of the “Mary Ward Open Circle” shows how active the lay companions of Mary Ward are in the Republic of South Africa. They start with an intriductory reflection on the Easter report where three women are heading out together at dawn, making their way to the tomb. They write: “It is not yet dawn for so many people in our own country, South Africa. Population displacement, migratory forces, and poverty leave so many families homeless, without work and in dire poverty.
The story of the women at dawn, invites us to ask ourselves “Who are we, MWOC, as women of the dawn on the way? Where is our Galilee? Who will roll away the stone of poverty? Heavy stones block the hope of humanity.
This newsletter will shed some light into this matter and, we hope may provide some answers to these questions. Our mission in life is to try to alleviate hardship, to bring some comfort to those suffering and the effect of poverty.”
