My name is Sr. Renáta, I live in Slovakia, I am 84 years old.
Until my retirement, I worked as an economist. I lived a large part of my life in a totalitarian regime, but with the hope that nothing happens by chance and that God is behind everything.
I traveled by train to school and later to work every day and I always looked forward to meeting my classmates in the same carriage. We encouraged each other in faith, hope and love. It was hope that became important to me, bringing me comfort and certainty in my spiritual life despite the unfavorable political circumstances.
By God’s providence, we, four girls, with the same desire to live for God met at work. We had to be careful in front of other colleagues so that they would not find out about it. I patiently and hopefully prayed to the Lord and waited for the time when it would be possible to live my consecration. After the “Prague Spring” in 1968, the impossible became possible.
In my Congregation I can live my consecration more and more fully and every day decide with hope for the Lord God and prepare myself for eternity.
The sisters with whom I live here also help me and give me hope for an encounter with the Lord. We are pilgrims of hope with a desire for the great love of God and this gives me peace in my heart. I also pray with hope for peace in the world.
