In this Jubilee year I am reminded that I am a pilgrim of hope. I walk in trust carrying the light of Christ wherever I go.
Hope gives me enthusiasm in my mission – the salvation of all for whom Jesus shed His blood and sacrificed His life and to give Him to a world longing for meaning.
Hope gives purpose to my steps, endurance to face challenges, problems and pain, to keep my eyes on the beacon light, Jesus, who endured death to give me eternal life.
As a pilgrim of hope I am invited to live with open hands and heart to spread the fragrance of His love far and wide. Hope is a gift from God, a virtue and to get it I must ask for it. It gives me peace even in suffering and it transforms me.
Being a teacher of school and college students for many decades, I came across a number of them who required the Lord’s touch to have hope to live.
One of them was Miss Seema who lost her parents, lived in an orphanage, longed for love, and had no hope to live. I helped her to accept herself, feel she is lovable and that God loves her unconditionally. Slowly she began to love herself gained self-confidence and began to have purpose in life. She became a dedicated and caring teacher, settled down in life; she loved her students giving them hope to lead a meaningful life. God never fails us when we walk in hope and trust.
