Lona Spulak is a young woman and a pupil of Mary Ward School in Bamberg, Germany. She learned about Mary Ward from a young age. The older she got, the more she was impressed by this trailblazing woman and her spirituality.
Being a young composer, she decided to create new songs based on famous words of Mary Ward. She has created compositions that are catchy and can be accompanied by a variety of instruments.
We will be publishing a series of songs here over time. We hope that many people will make use of them, learn them and sing them together at gatherings, church services and other occasions.
Sr Ursula Dirmeier CJ is one of the world’s leading experts on Mary Ward. She has not only studied Mary Ward’s biografie, but has also thoroughly examined her writings and many other primary sources, making them available in book form.
To accompany the new songs composed by Lola Spulak and help us understand the background and meaning of the words set to music, Sr Ursula has recorded reflections on them. We have compiled these into videos together with the songs.
