At Popești-Leordeni, beneath the clear and warm light of June, the spaces of the building beside the Provincial House and the Church became a vast window. Not of glass, but of souls.
On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the Ongoing Formation on the theme “The Impact of the merger: What does it mean for us?” brought together the community of Romanian sisters from the Latin-European Province. Nearly a hundred sisters came from every corner of Romania, and also from the diaspora: Austria, Cuba, Italy, and Spain. Like fragments of color in a stained-glass window, they were distinct, and yet held together by the same light.
This Ongoing Formation, coordinated by Sr. Veronica and Sr. Geraldine, was the day that crowned the canonical visit of June, carried out by our General Superior, Sr. Veronica, together with her General Assistant, Sr. Gerladine. A journey that did not end with a period, but opened into a question, transformed into prayer, reflection, and deeper insight: What does this merger mean for us?
The atmosphere was deep and alive, woven from words that became the breath of life: reflection, prayer, discernment, sharing, enthusiasm, joy, gratitude, unity, and trust. These were not merely agenda points. They were the echo of every sister present, and the heart of all we experienced together.
After the Holy Mass, lifted by the sisters’ angelic singing, the sun set gently. Twilight found us gathered around the same table, sharing a Romanian dinner as one family. A moment of recreation and, at the same time, of continuity: the same road, the same table, the same joy of belonging and of being part of the blessed family of the Venerable Mary Ward.
Profound gratitude to Sr. Veronica and her Sr. Geraldine for this encounter of grace, and for all that we, the sisters in Romnania, experienced: listening, empathy, sharing, understanding, encouragement, and support. One more piece of stained glass, set with care, so that the light of hope, peace, and transforming joy may continue to shine in us and through us.
