The celebration marked the 62nd anniversary of the sisters’ entry into Korea on 10 June. 180 members, excluding those who are sick, those in nursing homes, and those living overseas, and 11 members of the companions of Mary Ward participated in the festive assembly.
In the first part, Holy Mass was celebrated to give thanks to God for guiding the Korean Province with love and grace, and to bless the members the who celebrated their Silver, Golden and Diamond jubilees; a simple celebration was also held for the sisters.
Although Sister Juliana Rim, who lives in a nursing home, and two other sisters who were unable to come, were unfortunately unable to join. The members of the Provincial Assembly remembered them all in their prayers.
In the second part of the day, there was a fellowship time called “Hearts United Through Music”. Last year, on Religious Family Day, each member prepared individual cards and wrote down the scripture at the heart of our religious life in order to pray for one another during the “Year of Consecrated Life.” So we met the sister whose card was chosen and shared our prayers.
After that we invited the worship band J-fam to perform at a Hymn concert, where we enjoyed a pleasant time together with some sharing. Finally, the Religious Family Day concluded with a brief report from Cecillia Yeom about the ‘ELM in Rome’, and Sr Veronica’s opening words were distributed to all members to help our understanding.
