As St. Paul says, so do we Jubilee Sisters say: “What has not been seen by the eye and has not reached our ears, that God has prepared for us”
The time spent in Italy was a time of grace. Time in which we were able to see wonderful places. We visited many basilicas such as St. Peter’s Basilica, San Marco, San Giovanni in Laterano, St. Maria Maggiore, St. Cecilia, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Leopold, St. Francis, St. Praxedes, St. Maria Goretti, St. Paul’s Basilica outside the walls, St. Ignatius of Loyola, the rooms of St. Ignatius and his tomb, the Holy Staircase, etc. I had the honor and the grace/gift to make spiritual exercises with Fr. Iosif Șandoru SJ in Vicenza where the sisters welcomed us with smiles on their lips and open arms. May the Lord reward them for their special care during the whole time we spent there, and we promised to pray for Fr.
We had profound experiences sometimes we were speechless at what we saw, heard and experienced. We also had the opportunity to meet the Sisters of Rovereto who welcomed us with great love. May God reward their hospitality.
The pilgrimage in the footsteps of Mary Ward helped us to get to know her and to learn more about our foundress. We were transported back to her time when she came to Rome with her companions for the first time to receive the approval of the form of life from the Holy Father.
There would be much to say, we could write a whole book about our pilgrimage to Rome, but we conclude this poor testimony by thanking our superiors for this extraordinary gift on the occasion of our silver jubilee. Last but not least we thank God for making it happen.
