St. Francis' Convent Inter College in Jhansi, Delhi Province, has embarked on a transformative journey, placing Mary Ward's vision at the heart of its educational mission.

The school has adopted the Mary Ward Compass as its navigational tool, guiding students and staff toward becoming compassionate, committed, conscientious, and competent individuals of strong character.

Since July 2025, the school community has actively practised the Mary Ward Compass through diverse initiatives. Principal Sr. Merlin led orientation sessions introducing both teachers and students to this guiding framework. Weekly Friday reflections during morning assemblies encourage the entire community to integrate Mary Ward’s values into daily life.

Weekly reflections and monthly action plan

The commitment deepened with the 2025–26 Investiture Ceremony, themed “Mary Ward Compass – A Navigational Tool for Leaders: From Spotlight to Torchbearers.” This centrepiece event inspired student leaders to embody integrity and responsibility, reflecting Mary Ward’s legacy.

Additional initiatives have woven the Compass throughout school life: a Mary Ward Quiz in January deepened students’ knowledge of Mary Ward’s mission; a special assembly on 30 January 2026 celebrated the Compass’s relevance through prayer and student participation; visual posters across campus serve as constant reminders; and monthly reflection gatherings foster deeper engagement with Mary Ward’s teachings.

The school diary and a Mary Ward Compass podcast extend these reflections, while a monthly action plan translates values into concrete practice.

“Every step of our journey has been inspired by Mary Ward’s vision,” the school reflects. “With gratitude for how far we have come, we continue our journey, embracing the Mary Ward Compass as our navigational tool in education, guiding us to inspire, empower, and transform lives.”
