Our missions:

Pastoral

Pastoral work threads through all of our ministries, but some sisters also work in more formal pastoral settings, as permanent staff or volunteers.

Walking with God's people

Many of our sisters are engaged in pastoral ministries. These ministries include such responsibilities as

  • managing pastoral centres;
  • running training courses for discernment and spiritual accompaniment;
  • providing spiritual accompaniment;
  • involvement in chaplaincy work;
  • youth pastoral;
  • prison pastoral;
  • work in the parish in caring for the needs of parishes without a priest,
  • or support in the running of the parish;
  • the training of catechists;
  • running catechism classes;
  • assisting in the administration of dioceses;
  • organizing pilgrimages and days of prayer;
  • prayer guidance;
  • telephone and online chaplaincy;
  • bible study and prayer groups;
  • preparation for the sacraments;
  • care of the dying
  • ….

In many cases our sisters are employed full time by the Church in such ministries.

Frequently our sisters provide pastoral care as part of another ministry such as teaching, or have been trained in the pastoral field for part time work as a ‘third age’ ministry.
