The General Congregation of the Congregatio Jesu has elected a new General Superior. After days of prayer, discernment and consultations, the members of the General Congregation have voted for Sr Veronica Fuhrmann CJ from Germany who is a member of the Middle-European Province.
Sr Veronica will lead the congregation for the next nine years.
The members of the General Congregation also took the opportunity to thank Sr Jane Livesey who, together with her team, has been leading the congregation for the last eleven years – an extended period of office due to Covid restrictions that made it necessary to postpone the elections.
During the days to follow, the assembly will also elect the four General Assistants who will complete the new General Leadership team of the Congregatio Jesu. Furthermore, the General Congregation will discern and articulate the mission priorities of the coming years.
We welcome Sr Veronica warmly as our new General Superior and ask you to accompany her with your prayers.
