Sr Veronica Fuhrmann, CJ Superior General, together with Sr Anna Quinterio, Assistant General, made a visit to Bucharest, LEP Province, from 19th to 22nd January 2024, with the aim of meeting the council and sisters in and around Bucharest.
They were welcomed with bread and salt – a sign of local hospitality – and pampered with the white of the snow, which had just fallen after a heavy snowfall.
The pleasure of listening to the songs sung by the Sisters at the Sunday mass and the greeting of a large group of lay people; the work meetings, the spontaneous and warm sharing during the meal with the Sisters of the different communities were only some of the moments of the visit.
We are on the way together, as a community for the mission – so echoed Sister Veronica’s exhortation. We do not have the key to the answers… but what we can do is to seek His will together, in a synodal spirit; to listen to each other, to promote dialogue, to have an inner readiness for a new mission, whether at home or abroad, to discern together, to listen to Jesus, to live beyond possible differences and diversities.
This presentation was followed by questions and answers, in an atmosphere of simplicity and trust, of common search.
