REJOICE WITH US
As many readers already know, in the first important canonical step on the path of Becoming One of the two branches of Mary Ward’s Institute, the IBVM leadership team submitted a petition to the CJ General Congregation on Tuesday 23rd August. The IBVM, also called Loreto, asked for a canonical fusion – that is, for the Institute to be incorporated into the CJ.
After prayer, discernment and reflection, the members of the CJ General Congregation voted on this request today, 25th August. The request for fusion was approved unanimously by the 51 voting members of the CJ General Congregation. This was the second important canonical step on the path of Becoming One.
A third step will take place at the General Congregation of the IBVM in October in Manresa, Spain, when it too will also vote on Becoming One.
