A song for the future – E’ il mondo che cambia (Keep your voice up)

As we move closer to General Congregation 2020, all CJ communities and members have been invited to engage in a series of five community conversations in preparation for the General Congregation.  The first two of these conversations – CC#1 and CC#2 – are based around the signs of hope that we find in our world and in the worldwide Mary Ward Body.

Matthieu Daum, the facilitator of the GC, who has worked with the Provincial and Regional Superiors for the past three years, invited us to make use of all the resources available to us in our modern world in order to widen our horizons in relation to these conversations and in preparation for them.

Sister Anna Quinterio, of the Italian Province, and a member of the GC digital communications team, has suggested that one such resource might be a song which both lifts the heart and gives hope for the world. It is composed and sung by a singer known as Bassanese from Vicenza and was the winner of a competition to find a song to accompany the city of Padua which is the European capital for volunteering during 2020.  The song deals with the future and the need for change – and the fact that if the world is to change we also need to change.  It is both uplifting and moving and we recommend it to you.
