St. Francis Convent, Jhansi

All of us with the mindset of doing something for the needy, gathered enthusiastically to prepare hundreds of food kits each of that contained 5kg wheat flour, 1kg dhal, 500gm oil, turmeric, coriander and chilli powder of 100gm each and 1 kg salt. The beneficiaries of these kits were the migrant workers engaged in stone crushing, as well as the needy Catholics of four parishes viz.  St. Antony’s Cathedral Parish, St. John’s parish, Sacred Heart Parish and Our Lady of Perpetual help parish. The distribution was carried out by Srs. Pratima and Deepti in collaboration with the Director of the Diocesan Social Work Centre. Besides, the kits were also distributed to the community of blind people living in the flat given by the Bundelkhand Drishtiheen and Divyang Kalyan Sanstha.

St. Mary’s Convent Nainital

Following the Maxims of Mother Mary Ward during the lockdown St. Mary’s Convent College, Nainital reached out to 250 families distributing ration and other house hold items. We were able to be in touch with the rickshaw pullers, potters, boatmen and ragpickers. We could see the joy on their faces for the help they received. Apart from this we also contributed Rs. 2,00,000 to District Magistrate’s Fund. We requested them to utilize this amount in the local area itself and they have appreciated our generosity towards the poor and the needy. They gave us the full support in carrying out this noble task. During lockdown we showed special concern towards our co -workers and provided them with the necessities of life.

Jesu Bhawan, Provincial House, Delhi

The community reached out to the migrant workers who could not go home due to lockdown. They have their small huts very close to our provincial house. We purchased ration for 65 families and distributed to them. We were able to give them items like, rice, dal, oil and biscuits for children.
