Preparation
At my prayer place I consider Jane Browne, the oldest of Mary Ward’s companions who served with quiet dedication.
I become still in the presence of God.
Opening Prayer
I ask for the grace to be wholly God’s
Desire
I desire to be Jesus’ disciple and friend.
Prayer
I read the prayer text to anchor myself in the way of discipleship and friendship with Jesus.
I listen to his words…”whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also.”
I let them enter my heart.
Colloquy of the Senses
I hold a grain in my hand, the symbol of discipleship with Jesus.
Jesus and I share how we feel about our relationship and we consider how I may best follow him more wholly.
Prayer texts:
Deep within them I will plant my Law, writing it on their hearts. Jeremiah 31:33
Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. John 12:24
Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. John 12:26
