On the occasion of the Day of Missionary Martyrs 2024, the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Commission (JPIC) of the UISG – USG, in collaboration with the Laudato Si Movement, the office for Missionary Cooperation between the Churches of the Diocese of Rome and the association Terr e Missione organized the Missionary Way of the Cross “Martyrs of the Land” on 15th March at 3.30 p.m. at Sisters of Charity of S. Giovanna Antida Thouret , Via S. Maria in Cosmedin 5 – Rome. The Way of the Cross took place in different languages – Italian, Spanish, English, French and Portuguese. Reflections focused on Martyrs of Latin America, in particular in memory of Ezekeil Ramin, a Combonian missionary and recalled the violations of rights in Amazonia, both of people and the environment, such as deforestation and oil exploitation.
Anna Schenck, Adina, Lucia, Deise Santos and Pratima participated in it which lasted for two and half h ours. Adina and Lucia were selected to be candle bearers.
