First online ELM after General Congregation Part 1

On 18 November 12.30 pm Rome time, our extended leadership team met online. This was the first ELM meeting after GC Part 1, which was truly historic and unprecedented because of the mode of meeting this time, as well being in two parts and being more inclusive than ever before. We happily discovered that the process we followed in GC Part 1 definitely brought about a change in the overall atmosphere of this coming together on screen. The opening prayer brought us to deep reflections on the God who is accompanying us all the time. What was uniquely wonderful about this meeting was that there was very lively participation in small groups as well as in the plenary.

It was very evident that the General Congregation was still very much alive in the minds and hearts of the participants. The excellent input given by Liz Cotter IBVM, the Vice-Postulator for the Cause of Mary Ward was indeed inspiring. Everyone was in awe of the great amount of enthusiasm energy and love of Mary Ward she has invested in this enormous endeavour. Her enthusiasm was really contagious, as evidenced by the generous appreciation and applause that followed, with assurances of doing more. The closing prayer brought our sense of collective gratitude to the Lord for the presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst.
