Sr Marren Awiti IBVM from the Eastern African Province celebrated her 25th anniversary of her First Profession during the GC.
At the service on Sunday, September 4, the members of the GC took the opportunity to give thanks for her vocation and life in Mary Ward’s Institute and to congratulate her personally.
In a brief speech of thanksgiving, Marren also recalled her parents who, at a time and in a cultural context where neither education for girls nor entry into a religious order was by no means a matter of course, provided her with a good education and supported her at all times on her path into the order.
