Mary Ward died on the 30 January 1645. Her tombstone is garded in the church St. Thomas in Osbaldwick. Even if this parish (and its graveyard) are Anglican, they are very drawn to the Venerable Mary Ward and host a Mary Ward Service every year during Mary Ward Week.
This year, the service was held on Sunday, 28 January 2024 and was attended by sisters from the York convent of the Congregatio Jesu as well as IBVM sisters, local churches and visitors from many places beyond. One mor sign for the ongoing link between the Church of England and the Congregatio Jesu which is treasured by both denominations.
