THE SPANISH PROVINCE CELEBRATES ITS GOLDEN JUBILEE – FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING ( 1970 – 2020 )

Today, the Feast of Christ the King, is a day of thanksgiving for the sisters of the Spanish province. We celebrate with joy the golden jubilee.
In 1970, the M. Edelburga, General Superior at that time, realised this dream and we began our journey, as a province, with our first Provincial, Sr. Consuelo Martín, to continue with Srs. Leticia Larrea, Fátima Lamas and Pilar Urretavizcaya, our present Provincial. Each one of them is a companion on our journey in the mission and helps us in the founding charism on which we rely and are inspired.
The circumstances we are experiencing due to the pandemic have prevented us from meeting and celebrating in person but, thanks to technological tools, it has been possible for the whole province to meet and celebrate together in a different way. In this meeting we have relived the most important moments of our life and mission, we have shared them, we have enjoyed them and we have asked God with a grateful heart to keep us united and strong in order to face the future with joy.
The celebration of the Eucharist in our communities has been the essential focus of our celebration.
Our thanks go to all those in the CJ who have made this possible and helped us to live this moment in joy and happiness today.
Thanks to: our sisters from MEP who founded in Spain in 1939, all those sisters from other provinces who have lived, shared and collaborated with us in the mission and all the lay colleagues who share our apostolic ministries.
May this jubilee continue to be for each of us a beautiful opportunity to renew our enthusiasm for the gift of vocation and an encouragement to continue to give joyful witness to our consecrated life, to continue our mission with love and discernment and to serve the Church and the CJ wherever we are needed.
